Each course is a challenging and intensive full week of instruction, and is aimed those who have a passion to learn the art of Passive House design, the world’s leading standard in low‐energy, sustainable construction. This course is based on the international Passive House training program (CEPH), but taught from a Canadian perspective, and with Canadian content. We work in collaboration with the Passivhaus Institut in Germany, the world authority on this type of construction, and with partners across Canada and in the international Passive House community.
With excellent feedback and evaluations from previous course participants we've continued to develop and improve our course to ensure it reflects the current reality of Canadian designers and builders, especially with regard to Building Code issues, up‐to‐date component supplier information and Passive House-suitable wood framing details.
We’ll give you the knowledge and tools you need to design and build Passive Houses in all parts of Canada today – that means an 80 to 90% reduction in annual heating and cooling energy, compared to conventional construction.
