Benefits for members

This part of the website has been developed for our Members – that is, anyone who takes one of our training courses in Passive House design and construction.

CanPHI has invested significantly in acquiring this specialized content, and we offer all Members free access to this resource for a year after their course. In future there will be a small access fee, and these funds will be used by CanPHI directly to update and improve this content.

The material in this section will be of value for those who are actively designing  Passive House buildings, since we recognize the need to support our Members well beyond the week-long training course and to assist them in realizing their first (and future) Passive House projects.

In this section Members will find:

• An online Forum for debating all aspects of Passive House design and construction, for example: how to install windows properly; how to troubleshoot the PHPP or how to compare project economics. Here Members can post questions and relate their experiences with any of the numerous Passive House issues they will encounter. CanPHI will also use this Forum to answer a wide range of technical FAQs and to present research results etc.

• A series of PowerPoint presentation slides for Members to use in promoting the Passive House approach in their communities and to their clients

• A list of 52 Canadian locations for which comprehensive weather data is available (free) from CanPHI. These data sets include Heating Load and Cooling Load data, which is missing for all Canadian locations in the 2007 PHPP.
