The Canadian Passive House Institute (CanPHI) is a registered non-profit educational organization, based in Wakefield, Quebec and Vancouver, BC. We are 100% Canadian-owned and operated, and we were formally registered in June 2010.

Our goal is to provide Canadians with the knowledge, tools, networks and confidence to design and construct buildings which meet the world’s highest level of energy efficiency, the international Passive House Standard.

We’re actively building regional alliances and partnerships between individuals and organizations who wish to radically improve the energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of new and existing buildings in this country, and we support Canadian industry in developing building materials and components of the highest performance and quality, as required by Passive House construction.

Our current focus is to provide Canadian building professionals with high-quality training courses in Passive House design and construction. We back these up by offering ongoing support to all our course participants, including one-on-one design help with individual projects, access to a national Passive House online Forum and access to our specialist databases of PHPP climate sets and of thermal bridge calculations for Canadian wood frame construction. We also put them in touch with suppliers and manufacturers of Passive House-quality products.
